Weekend Goodies! aka NO LACE!

Friday-
Ventured down to downtown (or uptown? I'm not sure what you call it!) Charlotte to the courthouse. Asked the sheriffs office on the first floor where to find a certified copy of my criminal record, sent to the second floor to the criminal clerk of court, stood in line, made my request, back down to the first floor to pay $15 for it, didn't have cash, she sent me back up to the atm on the 2nd floor, back down to pay her with cash, back up to the criminal clerk of court to give her my receipt and get a piece of paper saying I have no criminal record..... ugh! All this just to send it in with my application for a temporary alcohol permit!!! W.O.W

Then on to Poppies to order the adorable pumpkin shown below!

Then the gym

Then cooked steaks with the honey! :-)

Saturday-
Got up, did some chores around the house, ate breakfast.... then a bad headache started to set in.... so I layed back down for a bit..... showered.... and got ready to leave for the beach!!!

11:45 AM- Melanie arrived, we packed up the car and headed out!

2:30- Made a pit stop in Cary to see Olga, seamstress extraordinaire! Dropped off the dress (got told I bought the WRONG type of bra to sew in the dress..... so I'm back on the bra/corset hunt)

Then off to the beach we went! We arrived at our hotel about 5 PM, and to Melanie's surprise, Melissa and Jennifer, some friends from home were waiting there to surprise her! Boy was she surprised!! After the initial shock wore off we headed to dinner at the beach, came back and had cake. We hung out in our plush (FREE) hotel room for the rest of the evening.

Sunday-
We ate a fantastic continental breakfast at the Comfort Suites, packed our things and headed out to see the sand, where Karen, Sabrina and Sabrina's little boy Kaleb met us. We also had another surprise for Melanie- our friend Marianne drove in just for the day to spend her birthday on the beach with us! She was again, in shock! Saturday was Karen's birthday so I wanted to celebrate a little with her.... we had cupcakes on the beach, YUM!

We ended our trip with a late lunch to P.T.s Grill for some good greasy hamburgers and fries!

It was great to have a weekend that wasn't focused on wedding chores, but to focus on someone elses celebration instead!

Headed to Columbia, North Carolina's Eastern 4-H Center for a week of summer camp with the kids I work with!

Weekend Recap!

We went to Wilmington for the 4th and stayed at the Taylor House Inn Bed and Breakfast. It was super cute, but the inn keeper was odd. We drove straight out to Wrightsville, had lunch at one of my favorite places, Two Guys Grill, and then out to the beach. We lucked out and only had to hunt for about 15 mins for a parking space. Spent about an hour and a half there, went and got ice cream, and then checked in our B & B. We had dinner at Roy's Riverboat Landing on one of the adorable balconies, then went to Carolina Beach for fireworks with my sister and her family.

Saturday, we had breakfast, and bolted out to the beach.... after 30 mins of hunting for a spot to park, we said F it, and drove to Topsail, which was super peaceful! Spent a few hours there, had lunch, showered and then went back to Carolina Beach to cookout with my sister.

Sunday, had breakfast, checked out, walked around Mayfair, and then went to lunch at Pita Delight with Sabrina!

Finally headed home, and it took us over 6 hours......... :-(

Target Find!

Last night on my way home from work, I stopped by Target to grab a gift card and went looking for the black swimsuit below.... they didn't have it.....

but...

I saw this hanging on the 50% off rack.... I snatched it up, hoping it fit and looked good on, I wasn't in the mood to try it on.

It's SO cute! A different belt would really look cute.... maybe one of my orange ones?? ;-) and some sassy shoes!

Weekend Goodness....

I really love it when I am home on the weekend.

Friday evening- work meeting... :-/ but it was fun, and I didn't have to travel too far.
Saturday- Early AM- Man my booth at the Davidson Farmers Market
Saturday afternoon- Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival (it was too damn hot, I felt horrible, so I went home and left Jeremy to have fun with our friend Matt)
Saturday Evening- TV, pizza, couch... :-)
Sunday- Brunch with my hunny at Toast, Ikea, cleaning.

I bought the shelf and one swing arm bar set for our bathroom :-) Now it kinda feels like a hotel bathroom!

Finally bought a chair for our office! It's not the one I wanted, but at only $22, it beat out the $130 chair!

I want this in our kitchen! :-)

I want dresser in our bedroom!

I also bought a set of 6 glasses at Ikea for the girls to put their flowers in at the reception.


On another note...

It was mothers day. To those of you with a strong, encouraging woman you call mom in your life, I hope you took a moment to appreciate her, not just yesterday, but everyday.

In Good Times and in Bad.....

Just an FYI for anyone thinking about going to Hickory's Steve White Motors.... DON'T

Went yesterday to test drive a Jeep Liberty... Loved it! Thad our sales guy was nice, but you could tell he was the manager's puppet... running back and forth to tell us things the finance mgr said, when he could have just as easily come and told us himself.

They made me put my 6K downpayment down without even seeing my interest rate! They said to wait 15-20 mins and the paperwork would be ready... we were told that twice.... finally after at least an hour, we were pissed. I went to find Thad... I asked him why we had been waiting... apparently it was because we were waiting to hear from their lenders. They tried to talk us into a 15% loan!!!!!!!!!!!! I told their sales manager that he was crazy.

The sales manager pulled up our credit and proceeded to tell us why our rate was so high... because our credit was "so bad" I just bought a house last year, with damn good credit.... we were just qualified for the best rate possible at VW... and you're telling me the best you've got is 15%.... give me an effing break! AND if they aren't the one holding the loan, why the hell were they looking at my credit!

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible! Don't waste your time! If they do have something you want... it might be on ebay.... the jeep we went for was listed on ebay, and they canceled the listing as soon as we signed our applications.... get your own lender, and don't deal with these people if they have something you want!

I asked that they refund my 6K payment immediately, and we left! It was awful, a waste of a day!

Valentines Day-

My gift to him- the boudoir photo card and Guinness beer glasses he's been eyeing for months! (I forgot to take pictures of the unwrapped gifts)



He sent me orange roses at work on Friday :-)



He also gave me candy and a gift card to Ulta :-)

Jeremy also got another "gift" from me... we traded his BMW 330i on Valentines day for the BMW z4 he'd seen.... no pictures of the new car yet though.... here he is cleaning the old one out....

Not Wedding Related.... I'm a sewing fool!

I went back to the fabric store after work yesterday and bought some more goodies! I got some felt, muslin, a zipper, more buttons.....

I played with the zipper, trying to make a cosmetic case.... I wasn't ready to venture to zippers yet! Thank God for seam rippers! Anyways, this is what I ended up with! It's on Etsy too!
