Boudoir Photo Session

So, some friends of ours Matt & Aeriel were married back in October. She introduced the idea of B-pics to me! She was having them done as her wedding gift to Matt. I was a little hesitant to the idea at first, but quickly became a fan! I decided to give my photographer a chance to do them, since she never had.

I can honestly say it's one of the best things I have ever done!!!! If for no other reason, it makes you feel like more of a woman than ever! My wonderful hair/makeup artist, Elizabeth Tolley did an outstanding job! She fixed my hair and makeup for each different outfit. While I was going through hair/makeup my photographer, Ashley Stephenson (who did our e-pics, on the right of this page) brainstormed about ideas for poses. My lovely bridesmaid Sabrina came for "moral support" but ended up being my "artistic director" telling me to drop my elbow, turn my head, play with your necklace... ect. Elizabeth also brought her assistant, Brianna, she was awesome too!!!

Every once in a while, Ashley would show me the screen on the camera of a picture she'd taken.... I was shocked!! I never thought I could look like I belonged in a VS magazine!!!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to everyone who made yesterday possible! I cannot wait to get the pictures! :-)

So much to talk about today....

My future-sister-in-law got married on Saturday, so our weekend revolved around the big event! Megan and Adam were engaged the weekend after us.... only 10 weeks ago! Even though it made them crazy, they pulled off a pretty good event! Adam's theory was the more time he gave her to plan, the more money she would spend. He'd given her 6 weeks, and she pushed it to 10. The church was beautiful! It was all decorated for Christmas with tons of poinsettias and wreaths! They got luck and had to buy very little decoration. Here's a few pictures from their day!


They had a reception in the church to follow the ceremony and then a big after party for their friends at a hotel. It was lots of fun!

I love the idea of all my girls in a different, fun colored shoe! Inspiration from my photographers- Story Photographers- this is a shot at a wedding they did.... thought it was so cute!

Reception Lighting Delima

So.... the place we are having our reception is used as a "gym" and it has those horrible, florescent, gym lights. I refuse to use them! So, I've been racking my brain to come up with unique lighting options. (See more reception hall pics at the bottom)

My first thought was to wrap the rafters in white Christmas lights. The only problem- the rafters are really, really high! I have no clue how I would get up there. (See rafters in pic)

2nd thought- Get (or make) some tall columns and wrap them in Christmas lights.

3rd thought- (could be done with 2nd thought)- get some candle chandeliers to hang from those really tall rafters..... I found this one on ace hardwares website- for $44

Bridesmaids Dresses

So, I have had a harder time finding the dress for my girls to wear, than I had finding one for me! It had to fit these categories-

1. Inexpensive- i.e. less than $75
2. Brown
3. Cocktail length
4. Simple
5. Something they could legitimately wear again, without someone thinking it was a bridesmaids dress

This was the one I found that I liked- sadly it's only available in sizes 16 and 18. **Target.com** only $39!


Here's the one I found yesterday- I ordered one to see what it looks like- Target.com also, and only $31!

I like the fact that they can wear a normal bra, and comfy undies with this one too! :-)

I can offically rent a car!

Wahoo for yummy food and my birthday! Jeremy and I got to celebrate Thanksgiving 3 times! We had our friends over the Saturday before Thanksgiving, celebrated with his family on Thanksgiving, made an appearance at my sisters in-laws (just because they're fun people!) and then my dad does the "anti-Thanksgiving" on the Friday after- which is quickly becoming one of my favorite holidays! Dad cooks a pig and everyone comes and hangs out in the barn... so fun! My sister took pictures- so I will be sure to add some once she gives me them.

Now- for my birthday- I'm 25- I can rent a car, and am allowed to have a quarter life crisis, if I choose :-)
I got a Wii Fit!!!! YAY! The whole reason I bought a Wii was to get the Fit!!! I am so excited to have it! Jeremy also got me an NCSU jacket, and some new VS undies! :-) He took me out to a very nice dinner on Saturday too :-) My sister gave me a fantastic frame that we had "oooohed" and "aaahhhed" over this time last year! She also gave me a home depot gift card- very useful for the new house!!! I got a beautiful vase from my friend Mike, that now sits on my dining table!

And probably the best gift I got- Jeremy's dad helped us get my SUPER DUPER heavy computer cabinet to our new house! It was an adventure, but I am so glad to have it in our office now! I spent my whole birthday night unpacking "office" boxes and putting things away, I was so excited!

My next birthday- I'll be an old, married hag! :-)
