Busy Busy Weekend..... Friday!

We'll start with Friday... since that's where the weekend starts! :-)

I have the lovely privilege of getting off work at 1 PM every Friday. So I left work, and rode up to Sertoma, for what was probably my last trip up there before the wedding. I met Kathy of Salem Kitchen to give her the tour, and let her know our setup. She was very helpful, and also informed me that we will need to get liability insurance for the wedding because we are serving our own alcohol, we'll also need a temporary alcohol license.... ugh.... more things to research and pay for.... if we'd used their alcohol and bartenders, they already have those things in place- but it's much more expensive.... :-(

I was amazed how clean camp was!!! :-)

Weekend Recap!

What a weekend!

I spent most of my time camped on the couch, sick. I had some horrible allergic reaction to God only knows what... and my legs and arms broke out with Urticaria (a fancy word for hives). We were on the way to pick up our truck, and my leg itched... so I scratched... I looked down, and my thighs were covered in small red bumps! AAAH! I freaked, dropped Jeremy off to get the truck, and I immediatly went to urgent care. He gave me meds... the meds made me feel icky! But, I'm all better now! :-)

On to the good stuff.... Rodney and Susan tied the knot on Saturday night.... In the exact place we will be in 4.5 months! I was so excited to go, and see how they were doing things!

Some things I learned about this wedding....

1. Make sure they cut the grass!
2. Make sure they trim the bushes!
3. They had "up lights" installed around the rec hall! (YAY!) But, make sure they all have bulbs!
4. I want a big group picture of us and all our guests.

My First Love....

Is the place where I am getting married! I cannot express what Sertoma 4-H Center means to me. As a child, I was a camper there for 3 summers, I think (1995-1997) It's always been a magical place to me. The history, the details, everything is wonderful. It's the only place I like calling home now. The house I grew up in has been sold, and I don't live in my hometown anymore. I am also now the product of a single parent family. This is the one place from my childhood that has not changed. Above being a beautiful place, it's home to me.

Recently, one of my old camp councilors put a few fun pictures on facebook from those summers. Enjoy!

I'm sure I am in this picture somewhere! It's fun to say that I will be getting married on this lawn in just under 9 months!!



And, I just had to include this one.... this is Karen, one of my bridesmaids... we met at camp! I am sure she will want to murder me for putting this up here! HAHAHA!
